There are many ways to build a successful coaching business. The essentials are knowing what to do to get more clients, how to increase revenue and how to create good quality coaching programs and products.

However, what many coaches do not know or understand, is that once they’ve created their coaching business, they also need to set up a system which allows their business to run smoothly day after day. Everything they do can be transformed into a process which is followed or performed by the coach’s team.

From the moment you get more clients, you will need to create an effective system to help all of them. It would be a huge waste of time to repeat everything over and over again for each individual client, and have to rethink every step all the time. Reinventing the wheel is not an option if you want time to focus on the business aspect of your activity.

What is a process?

In your case, a process is a series of steps you must take to get to the results you want. But remember, you do not want to have to do the same thing over and over again.

A very good example of a process is the enrollment of your clients. You will know from experience what steps to take, what needs to be done under certain circumstances. You will know what to do when a client has a request or complaint, you will know in advance what may happen at a certain stage of your work with a client.

All you have to do is pay attention to everything that happens while working with a client. To be even more effective, write things down and set up a system; that way it will be clearer and easier for you to handle. Think of it as a "script" for each situation. You won’t have to duplicate your work once you have created a system which allows you to perform the same step only once for all your clients.

Why duplicate your work?

In time, you will see that the results of creating a process are remarkable. There will be times when your team will know exactly what to do to help a certain client without needing your assistance. From the business point of view, it makes your life easier and gives you more time to focus on other aspects of your business.

Your team could help a client with enrollment, payments or other technical or administrative issues, because they will know exactly what do, thanks to your system. They can provide a fast response and assistance, whereas it could take you days to reply to an email if you have a very busy schedule. This way, your clients will be completely satisfied with your services, knowing that there is always someone ready to help them promptly whenever they need it.

Think about the fact that you consider yourself a professional and you obviously want everyone to know that. Well, your clients will think otherwise and could easily be driven away by small issues, if you do not meet their demands quickly and efficiently. They will move on to another expert in the market if you do not give them the attention they need. That is another reason why processes are vital in your daily activity.

Processes can improve your daily schedule, helping things to run smoothly all the time. This will allow your clients to fully benefit from your expertise and allow you to develop a flourishing coaching business.
