As much as you may not like it, marketing plays a big part in developing a successful coaching business. An efficient marketing system can set you apart from other coaches on the market and generate revenue all year round.

Most of you think that a marketing campaign takes a lot of money out of your budget and it is something you cannot afford right now. Of course, you are used to the traditional way of promoting a business, but now there is no need for you to go down that route as well.

Since a lot of coaches now work exclusively online, a traditional marketing campaign could turn out to be a waste of time and money. You don’t need brochures and advertisements in newspapers, magazines, etc; all you need to know is how to reach your clients through the internet. Networking and word-of-mouth are not really effective enough systems to enable you to have a lot of clients all year round.

So you must remember that an efficient marketing system is a way to generate new potential clients on a regular basis.


What you actually want from your marketing is to give your targeted clientele as many ways as possible to find you. This can be done during lectures, interviews, through any opportunity you get to find yourself face to face with your targeted clientele.

Here is a list of excellent ideas that work very well, and some of these ideas are already working very well for me. All you have to do is to combine several of these tools to help you increase traffic to your site or your blog and attract new clients all the time.

• Create your own free blog using WordPress, Joomla or other such platforms. It must be rich in content, share practical information, give tips and ideas about your area of expertise.

• Write articles and publish them in all the directories you know which are aimed at your target clients or at least are closely linked to your target clientele.

• Offer free resources to your potential clients, for example an e-book, or through tests with results sent by email. Always remember to get your potential clients’ email addresses, because you need to build your mailing list.


• Have monthly video-seminars or interviews with personalities in your area.

• Develop your coaching outside of your normal sessions. Turn your skills into products, into audios, videos which create traffic towards your website.

• Hire a professional to optimize your site. You will get great help from them and increase your traffic at the same time.

• Promote your business through social media. Facebook, LinkedIn, Viadeo and Twitter are the places to be if you want to be found by your potential clients.

• Create alliances with other professionals who are already in contact with your target clientele.

As you can see, there are so many possibilities to attract potential targeted clients to you. The best thing to do is choose 2 or 3 ideas from the above list and work with those constantly, then you can add others as your business grows.

And if you think it is difficult from the technical point of view, you can hire professionals to make it easier on you and take care of all the necessary technicalities.
No matter which strategy you use, always make sure it is the right one for you, the one which brings you a constant flow of clients and increases your revenue.
