Ever since you joined the coaching industry, every teacher or book has told you about the importance of your role in your clients’ lives. I’m sure you also know from your own experience that you are not just a service provider, that your responsibility doesn’t just end after you’ve sold them a certain product or programme.
You are your clients’ leader. You are their role-model, and they follow your personal example. Once they know you are the one they need to reach their goals, they need you to show them what steps to take right through to the end.
Those clients who are committed to success, will follow your lead and will trust your guidance. They want to know WHAT you did to succeed and not HOW you did it. And that is the key to leading them towards your solution! Why do you need to make this distinction?
1. Because the HOW is actually what you have to offer. The HOW is your programme or product, it is the work you do with your clients to finally solve the problem.
2. Because if you told them how you did it, they might get confused, they may not be ready yet and you run the risk of losing your potential client.
First and foremost, believe in your clients!
Believe in the fact that if you can do it, they can as well. If you don’t believe in your clients’ success, your prospects will feel that you can’t help them. Even if they don’t really know why…
Most importantly, be your clients’ inspiration and motivate them to work towards their own success. Let them know you are there for them every step of the way, but it is up to them to make it happen. Make sure they get involved in the process; their satisfaction will be that much greater when they put some personal effort into it.
Once again, remember that your clients want to see results, they need real-life examples of success. If you show them that you have helped other clients reach their goals, that you also made it yourself, then they will be willing to work with you.
Secondly, believe in yourself!
If you don’t believe that you can lead your clients to the solution, they’ll also feel it, and the result will be the same. They will lose their interest in you…
You wouldn’t want to work with professionals who show no self- confidence and hesitate in taking responsibility, so why would your clients? After all, why shouldn’t you believe in yourself? You are an experienced coach, you have already proved you can help others succeed, you know what your strengths are and what you can do to reach as many people as possible!
As I said before, people want to work with a coach who can set an example, who is a leader, who can inspire them to take all the necessary steps to reach their objectives. And one more thing: people cannot be fooled that easily! They will immediately feel if you are not genuine, if you only copy others or use extracts from coaching books, and they will not spend their money on someone who is a ‘Fake’ not the genuine article. Honesty is always the best policy and personal example will always get you more clients!
No matter what strategy you use in your coaching business, always remember that your clients will work with you if you show them you can be a leader, if your message says “I am good at what I do and I know how to help you! “. Use this strategy and it will help you increase your revenue and establish yourself on the market as the successful coach people must work with to get results.
