There are many coaches who are struggling every day to improve their coaching business. They’ve tried every strategy possible, spent a lot of time and money trying to attract more clients, but nothing seems to work. Feelings of frustration, discouragement and despair are just around the corner.
What you need to do is take a step back and just imagine how you can work with your clients, get results and attract more and more clients every day. I know it seems easy to imagine; much harder putting it into practice. But guess what? The easy way to do this is the simple way. Always! Why complicate your life with vastly over elaborate strategies? Why look for the answer elsewhere when it is lying inside you all the time?
 Use your skills and competencies
If you really want to develop your coaching activity, then you need to start by making a list of your experiences, your assets, all those benefits you can fully use in your coaching business.
You have it all there, and it is far easier to build on something solid, something you can manage, rather than venture into completely new and unknown territory.

You already have the skills that led you to choose this profession. So start using those skills!! Do what you do best and your clients will come to you! Make sure you do everything possible to become an expert in a specific area. If a potential client needs help to solve a specific problem, he will contact a professional who is an expert in dealing with that particular problem.

 Do not coach everyone on everything
This actually relates to targeted coaching. In fact, it is about positioning yourself as an expert rather than as a generalist coach. It is far more difficult to get started if you don’t have a specific target from the very beginning.

If you really want to stand out from the crowd, to be recognised amongst the other coaches as a true professional and to get hired by clients, you have to distinguish yourself by the value and the results you can provide to a target market. This will place you in the position of an expert.

All the techniques you have heard about, or maybe even tried for yourself, will not help you achieve what you want unless you decide to become a specialist in a specific area. Even if you sign up to all the networking communities in your area, you will not be able to achieve the results you want.

Moreover, just because you target a particular market does not mean that you cannot have other clients outside this area. On the contrary, your reputation will grow based on the results you achieve in your role as a specialist and other clients will come to you to help solve other problems. You will begin to understand the importance of positioning yourself correctly in the coaching business.

 Use strategies that suit you

Find the strategy that suits you and matches your skills, your competencies and your goals. This strategy will not only be effective for you, but also for your clients. This means identifying the ones that suit you best, the ones with which you feel most comfortable and combine them with one or two other techniques that have proven themselves effective. Most coaches have a long list of ideas. The problem is they do not know where to start and more often than not, they just move on to the next idea without having thoroughly tried and tested the one before. So compile a carefully selected list and investigate them thoroughly before investing in them.
Remember that the challenge, in order to be effective, is to send the right message to the right clients.

Those coaches who are successful in this business know which clients to target, what to give them and they only deal with those clients who want to pay. They concentrate all their efforts and resources on attracting only those clients who want to get the specific results they sell and especially clients who are willing to pay for these specific results.

In order to successfully improve your coaching business, you must have a strategy that works on the coaching level. By developing your own system, your approach and your strategy, it will allow you to solve most of the problems your clients have to deal with.
